Rosa Marina
The beaches of Rosa Marina, just a short walk from the Resort, are renowned for their fine golden sand washed by the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.
The wide expanses of sand surrounded by lush Mediterranean maquis offer places of peace and relaxation, perfect for those who want to enjoy the allure of the sea without sacrificing comfort.
To reach the Il Pontile beach, a beach club in Ostuni a Mare, you can opt for a walk along a path shrouded in vegetation, or you can choose a fun ride on a picturesque little train on rails.
Parco delle Dune Costiere (4 miles away)
The park is characterised by a unique and evocative dune landscape, with sand dunes rising up close to the sea. These dunes are a distinctive feature of the area, providing ideal habitats for numerous species of plants and animals.
The protected natural area, established in 2008, covers an area of approximately 41,000 hectares. It contains different types of ecosystems, including wetlands, lagoons, coastal forests and agricultural areas. This variety of habitats helps to support a very rich and diverse fauna and flora, with the presence of many species of migratory birds, reptiles, amphibians and insects.
The park is also of great archaeological interest, with numerous sites of historical and cultural interest, including ancient settlements, coastal towers and remains of fortifications dating back to different eras.
Torre Guaceto (18 miles away)
The Torre Guaceto protected area is a protected area covering 1,200 hectares along the Adriatic coast. A place of great natural beauty and ecological importance, managed by the WWF and the Fondo Ambiente Italiano, it is an example of conservation and promotion of nature and sustainable development.
It includes a portion of coastline, sand dunes, Mediterranean maquis and a vast coastal lagoon, as well as the Guaceto tower, built in the 16th century to protect the coast from pirate attacks, which dominates the landscape.
The protected area is an important habitat for numerous species of migratory birds, such as pink flamingos, herons, storks and ducks. The coastal lagoon is also an ideal environment for sea turtles, such as the Caretta caretta, which choose its sandy beaches to lay their eggs.
The reserve can be explored on foot, by bicycle or kayak. There are specially marked trails that allow you to visit the coastal and lagoon ecosystems, offering scenic views and wildlife encounters. It is also possible to go scuba diving to explore the seabed.
